Winter in the Wildschönau Tirol

High Rope Course in Zauberwinkel in Oberau.

The first high wire climbing course is a special adventure. Set in wonderful alpine scenery, the park is ideal for team training, educational experiences for school and youth groups and is a challenge for most people. The wires are strung between trees at heights of between 14 and 23 metres. There are 23 different stations in three categories to conquer. (Children must be taller than 140 cm and accompanied by an adult).

Climbing in the tree tops demands self confidence and team spirit as well as leadership qualities and stress management.
You don't  have to be top fit to successfully traverse the rope bridges, and there are no rules for mastering each task...

...and for these reasons the park is a popular activity for schools, companies and clubs and is ideal for personell and management training.

The high rope course is an unforgettable experience. You will be amazed at your own bravery.

Schönanger cross country track

The high cross country track on the Schönanger Alm is the prettiest but also the most demanding track in the valley. In total there are 50 km of cross country tracks in the Wildschönau. The Schönanger track is 5 km long and starts at the pond and continues on into the fantastic rugged scenery.

The Schönanger Gasthof is right beside the tracks and open six days a week for great refreshments after a hard days langlauf!. Closed Tuesdays.

Anyone for sledging?

Tip: Tobogganing from Schatzberg to Thierbach

If you're looking for adventure by moonlight, we have just the thing in the Wildschönau. How about a fun toboggan evening? You take the last lift up to the Schatzberg. For five short kilometres you snake your way down to the tiny hamlet of Thierbach. Return by Bummelbahn.

Toboggan run from the mid station of the Schatzberg lift to Auffach.
The toboggan run is 5 km long and starts at the Koglmoos mountain restaurant.

Around the Thierbach 'Kogel'

Snow shoe walking in untouched nature is becoming more & more popular. A lovely walk is around the Thierbach Kogel (meaning hilltop). The hamlet of Thierbach consists of a church, a school, a few farms and 2 guesthouses and is absolutely idyllic.

The walk starts at the church and leads you passed the Mooshof Farm, through the woods and back to the village. The views as always are splendid and a stop in one of the oldest guesthouses in the Wildschönau afterwards is a must!
