Ski Mountaineering in the Wildschönau Tyrol
Wildschönau - You have chosen one of the most lovely places for ski mountaineering in the Eastern Alps.
Our valley can be considered a paradise for winter sports fans and ski mountaineers, with its fantastic views and gentle descents. The ski mountaineer is offered many attractive routes of differing lengths.
Schönanger Alm is a popular starting point, reachable by car, Bummelbahn or from the tops of the Markbachjoch or Schatzberg gondolas.
Safety tips:
High over the valley you can ofter see the tracks of a lone ski tourer headed for the mountain top.
Start off early enough kitted out with food, drink, sun cream, avalanche beeper and shovel. If you're going off piste , the reponsibility is yours alone. Always let someone know where you intend to go and always listen to weather, snow and avalanche reports.
