An special insider's tip is a Wildschönau Alpine Breakfast on the Farnkaser Alm
We've come up with a super idea in the Wildschönau for nature lovers. How about joining the young Silberberger family on their high pasture the Farnkaser for breakfast!? The family spend the summer months in a mountain hut at 1520m tending their livestock.
Right in the middle of lovely green pastures, watching the grazing cows from the terrace of a quaint wooden house, you can enjoy the heavenly peace and quiet and a sumptuous breakfast in the morning sun. You'll be spoiled with homemade bread, fresh butter, cheese, homemade jam and honey as well as fresh eggs and homecured bacon straight from the pan. Coffee, tea or fresh milk are also on the menu.
Alm Breakfast from the beginning of June to the end of September.
The ascent to the Farnkaser is fairly easy. Drive to the Schönanger Alm and set off from the bridge just before the Guest house. The walk takes about an hour at a leisurely pace.
Sunrise is at 6am in high summer and breakfast is available from 8.15!
